Polar Skateboards originates from Sweden and has become one of the most renowned brands in the skateboard industry. Founded in 2010 by professional skater Pontus Alv, Polar Skate Co offers skateboards and streetwear in a minimalist way that is so typical of Scandinavian design. Their skateboard graphics are known for covering a variety of styles, ranging from homages to fine art to scathing parodies of popular culture. Polar Skateboard's clothing, on the other hand, is decidedly clean-cut and designed to ensure maximum durability and comfort while skateboarding. Although Polar Skateboard is first and foremost a skateboarding brand, their minimalism has earned them a lot of recognition in the fashion and streetwear departments. You will rarely find unnecessary stitching on any of their jackets or over-the-top prints on their t-shirts. However, this does not mean that they are sold out for fashion. As is common with Scandinavians, their prints can be quite sarcastic and poke fun at streetwear and popular culture itself. Far from being just another vanity project by an ageing professional skateboarder, Polar Skateboards is heavily influenced by European skateboarding, art and photography.
