Skateboard wheels

The wheels make the skateboard contact with the road or the ground, and thus play an important role in terms of ground adhesion, rolling speed and feeling. Skateboard wheels differ on the one hand in the size, ie the diameter and width of the role and on the other also by material and Härtegrad. Standard skateboard wheels have a diameter of about 54mm, are usually made of urethane and have a Härtegrad of 100a. Here in our Skateboard Wheels offer you will find wheels of all major brands such as Spitfire, Bones Wheels, Pig Wheels, Robotron, Jart and also unprinted wheels - so blank wheels. The Longboard wheels have an extra category, because they are larger and have to meet other requirements.

Wheels Size

Für the classic street skateboard, which is used for trick skating on the street and park are suitable skateboard wheels between 48mm and 56mm diameter. Of course, the role should be chosen proportionally to the board. Of course, each skater develops its own preferences in terms of roller size, but here are a few examples of suitable board / roller combinations for normal use as a guide: Board width

.
 6.5 - 7.2
 48mm - 50mm
 7.3 - 7.6
 50mm - 51mm
 7.7 - 8.1
 51mm - 52mm
 8.2 - 8.6
 53mm - 56mm

Naturally, wheels with a larger diameter roll better and longer than smaller ones. But they also weigh more and are a little harder to accelerate. Too large wheels will also complicate your tricks and are better suited for cruising than for the skatepark.

.

Hardness in skateboard wheels

The hardness of the material is indicated with skateboard wheels gladly on the A-scale. This ranges up to 100a, and is increasingly härter. Conventional wheels for street skating are usually 99a or 100a. Quite new in the offer are now even harder wheels, which exceed the A-scale. 103a refers to ultra hard wheels, and actually no longer fits into the said A-scale of Durameter measurement. Therefore, these rolls are described with the B-scale. 103a corresponds to 83b. You see - the B-scale has still air to the top....
Softer rollers offer more traction than hard. Well suited if you want to heat e.g. fast in the bowl without flying out of the track. But soft rollers also get faster so-called flat spots. Hard wheels slip away faster, which can be quite intentional when skating. A not quite clean landing of a trick is forgiven by a hard role rather, because it does not grip immediately and can easily push in the direction of travel or "sliden" lässt.

If you do not want to worry about the right wheels, the complete boards are perhaps the better choice. There, all components are coordinated with each other.
