THE IDEAL SHOES FOR SKATEBOARDING - WHAT SHOES SHOULD YOU CHOOSE?

But which shoe should you prefer for skateboarding when it has to stand up to the grip tape and wear and tear of skateboarding? There are a few features you should look for when choosing the right skate shoes. One important aspect is the upper material, which should be abrasion resistant, but at the same time give a good board feel. Canvas is less suitable for this, but recommended for a comfortable after-skate shoe or everyday sneaker. More suitable are different types of leather. In our item descriptions in the webshop, you will find information about the upper materials of the respective shoes, which will help you make your choice.

SOHLEN FÜR SKATESCHUHE - WHAT IS THE RIGHT DECISION?

Another important aspect is the sole of the skate shoe. A cushioning insole that absorbs shocks and impacts is just as important as an outsole with good grip. Whether it should be a vulcanized sole or a cupsole is more of a personal preference. Cup soles are heavier and stiffer, need to be broken in accordingly, but offer high protection and comfort. Vulcanized soles are thicker and therefore offer a better board feel from the start, but have less damping.

Special features of skate shoes

In addition to the above features, there are other special features that make a skate shoe more durable and practical. For example, look out for reinforcements in the ollie area of the shoe, so-called ollie pads. Or shoelace protectors that protect your laces from tearing under heavy use. And if the one or other small hole in the upper material forms, often the good old Shoe-Goo can help to keep the shoe skateable.
